Description

Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour; museum field trips. General introduction to study of museums in their social and historical contexts. Examination of debates about museum's role in society through case studies and analysis of exhibitions in range of museums including art, history, and ethnographic museums. P/NP or letter grading.
