Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour; outside study, seven hours. Enforced requisites: Mathematics 32B, Physics 1C. Principles of transduction of various physical and biomedical parameters into electrical signals. Theory and design of basic circuits to amplify, measure, and filter these signals. Theory of operation and design of electrocardiogram, blood pressure transducer, Coulter Counter, and other biomedical instrumentation. Letter grading.
