Structural Systems Design

Description

Lecture, four hours; discussion, two hours; outside study, six hours. Requisites: courses 141 or 142, and 190. Corequisite: course 132. Design course for civil engineering students, with focus on design and performance of complete building structural systems. International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7 dead, live, wind, and earthquake loads. Design of reinforced concrete and structural steel buildings. Computer modeling, analysis, and performance assessment of buildings. Letter grading.
