Lecture, four hours; discussion, two hours; outside study, six hours. Introduction to the measurement of equity outcomes within the context of transportation infrastructure investment and policies. Students learn to understand the data, models, and metrics used to evaluate the fine-grained impacts of transportation systems and policies on people. Examination of how these impacts can be distributed across people, according to spatial and demographic characteristics. Students gain experience and learn how standard and emerging equity measures can be calculated and interpreted, as well as learn from critiquing the state of practice on transportation equity measurement. May be repeated once for credit. Concurrently scheduled with course C284. Letter grading.
