(Formerly numbered 285.) Lecture, two hours; laboratory, eight hours. Requisites: courses 30AL, 110A, 113A, 171. Materials synthesis and physical properties of complex materials. Combines synthetic skills with fundamental physical understanding and characterization in approximately equal proportions to relate materials synthesis to materials function. Concurrently scheduled with course C185. Letter grading.
