Elementary Modern Chinese for Advanced Beginners: Intensive

Description

Lecture, 10 hours; discussion, 10 hours. Intensive course equivalent to courses 1A, 2A, and 3A. Designed for students who already have some listening and speaking skills in Mandarin Chinese but do not have any reading and writing skills and for students who speak Chinese dialect other than Mandarin at home and have some knowledge of Chinese characters (i.e., can read some basic Chinese). Coverage of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Offered in summer only. P/NP or letter grading.
