Lecture, three hours. Requisite: courses 1, 2, or equivalent. Corequisite: course 11. Covers core mathematical tools essential for advanced economic analysis. Also covers corresponding applications to economics. Supports development of technical tools necessary to access formal economic analysis in academic literature and in policy work. Letter grading.
