Practicing Epidemiology in Government Health Agencies

Description

Lecture, two hours. Requisite: course 200B. Introduction to practice-based concepts for conducting epidemiology in a local or state health agency. Topics include funding issues, data sources, study design concerns, bureaucratic challenges, use of epidemiology for evidence-based decision-making, and communication of findings to lay audiences. S/U or letter grading.
