Introduction to conceptualization and writing of competitive research grant proposals. Focus on National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) funding mechanisms. Elements of the grant review process-structure, process, scoring, funding decisions. Application of grant writing principles to develop a research proposal following NIH guidelines. S/U or letter grading.
