Seminar, three hours. Designed for undergraduate students who are part of Labor Summer Research program. Discussion of qualitative applied research methods used by union researchers and scholars engaged in labor relations and workplace studies. Through combination of lectures, key readings, and active participation in hands-on research fieldwork, development of understanding of critical debates regarding role of research and socioeconomic contexts that impact low-wage workers and their families. May be repeated for credit. Letter grading.
