Literacy Development

Description

Lecture, three hours. Requisite: course 10. Topics include neurological processes of reading, the influence of reading on cognitive skills, best practices for reading instruction, the evolution of writing systems, and difficulties with reading (including dyslexia). May be repeated once for credit. P/NP or letter grading.
