Seminar, four hours. Study of ecological medicine, a new field of study that examines the relationships between human and planetary health. A convergence of global events have led to an unprecedented longing for reconnection with the natural world. Ecological medicine is gaining attention as planetary crises of climate change are addressed by protecting environmental integrity, promoting global equality, and connecting people with nature. The practice of ecological medicine has ancient and Indigenous roots, and linkages to therapeutic approaches such as ecotherapy and nature contact, human-animal therapy, psychedelic therapies and other plant medicines, traditional healing practices, integrative medicine, and biophilic design. Letter grading.
