Complete at least 10 upper-division history courses, including:
U.S. History
Two courses in U.S. history.

Non-Western History
Two courses in non-Western history from the same area (i.e., Latin America, Asia, Near East, Africa).

European History or History of Science
Two courses in European history or in history of science.
Select 2 from 0 options:
Topics in Historiography
One course from History 187A through C187R.

Capstone
One capstone seminar from the History 191 series.

History before 1700 CE Requirement
One of the 16 courses required for the preparation for the major and the major must predominantly cover history before 1700 CE. Select one course from the following list:

Honors Program
The honors program is designed for History majors who are interested in completing a year-long research project that culminates in an honors thesis. A 3.5 departmental grade-point average is required for admission.
